Concord is proud to announce that Brian Davis, Senior Manager of Business Intelligence – Data & Analytics, and Sean Miller, Principal Consultant, have been named Sigma Influencers by Sigma.
The recognition highlights their leadership in modern analytics and places them among a select group of early adopters helping shape how organizations use Sigma in the market today.
Sigma is a cloud-native analytics platform built directly on top of the data warehouse. It enables teams to explore live data through a familiar spreadsheet-like interface while also support advanced capabilities such as AI-powered applications and workflow automation.
As a Sigma partner, Concord works with organizations to activate the platform in ways that extend beyond traditional reporting. The focus is on aligning data strategy and operational workflows to business outcomes.
The Sigma Influencer Program has two main goals: to generate authentic, user-created content and to provide a collaborative channel for early adopters to engage with the Sigma product team.
“The program is designed to generate organic, user-created content for Sigma across a variety of content types (including how-tos, AI App demonstrations, feature highlights, etc.), while also serving as a channel for early adopters to connect, collaborate, and help make Sigma a better product in the marketplace,” Brian said.
Influencers receive early access to beta features, visibility into product roadmaps and upcoming releases, and opportunities to provide feedback. They are also encouraged to create and share content across professional networks to showcase real-world use cases.
Sean added, “This program will help push Sigma techniques, new features, and ‘art of the possible’ to a rapidly growing user base. Sigma’s user community is currently relatively small but mighty, and this initiative will accelerate that growth.”
Sigma selects Influencers based on their ability to combine technical expertise in the platform with a strategic understanding of how to use it to improve processes.
“Ideal candidates are early adopters or advocates of Sigma who understand how to use the tool to build both dashboards and AI Apps, while also seeing the business side of how the tool can go beyond a dashboard to solve workflows,” Brian said.
For Brian, participation in the program reflects a broader shift already underway in his career.
He spent the first eight years of his analytics journey focused on building dashboards. Today, his perspective has expanded beyond reporting to look at business processes as a whole.
“It’s forced me to think beyond just a dashboard. I spent the first eight years of my analytics career building dashboards (mostly in Tableau). Over time, and through the Sigma program, I’m now looking at operational processes that are potentially siloed or manual, and assessing how Sigma could streamline or automate them though an AI App.”
This evolution mirrors a larger trend in analytics: moving from simply reporting on the business to improving how the business operates.
Sean, a prominent member of the Tableau community for a decade, has seen several shifts in the BI market. While he remains connected to Tableau, he recognizes the potential Sigma offers.
“Sigma’s market positioning, while rooted in BI frameworks, is challenging the BI tool status quo. A lot of tools will only take you so far before you need to export your data and take some other action. Sigma is one of the first tools I’ve seen in a long time with a real shot at ending the endless exporting,” Sean said. “With the right mix of mindset, governance, and self-service, Sigma is well positioned to be, dare I say it, the tool that allows you to uninstall Excel.”
As a Sigma parter, Concord helps organizations define their analytics strategy, establish governance frameworks, build scalable data models, and activate Sigma to support business workflows.
