By Kate Huber
Anjali Satpute

In the world of comic books, origin stories inform the reader of the identity and motivations of heroes and villains (thankfully, we only have the former here). Like Spider-Man or Captain America, your origin story is important as it defines who you are today. Learn about the experiences, people, and influences that shaped Concord's Anjali Satpute by reading below!

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Do you have a favorite family tradition?

One of my favorite family tradition is celebrating Ganesh Chaturthi. We bring a Ganesh idol home for 10 days, perform daily prayers, prepare delicious homemade food, and enjoy spending time with our relatives. It's a special time that brings everyone together and fills our home with joy, love, and lasting memories.

Who’s someone who’s made a big impact on your life?

The person who has had the biggest impact on my life is my father. He has always encouraged me to stay positive, work hard, and never give up. His patience and determination has inspired me to approach life with confidence and resilience.

What’s one of your favorite places you’ve ever been?

My favorite places are Shimla and Manali. I love them because they're beautiful hill stations with stunning scenery and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. One place that really stood out to me is Manikaran. It's an amazing destination, especially known for its natural hot water springs, which make it a unique and memorable experience.

Can you share an experience that helped shape who you are?

I'm currently working as a quality assurance professional. There were projects with tight deadlines, changing requirements, and unexpected issues.During those times, I learned to stay calm, communicate effectively with my team, and focus on finding solutions instead of worrying about problems. That experience helped me become more confident and adaptable.

What’s your go-to comfort food?

I like traditional Indian food. I also like Italian pizza and pasta. Yum!

How did you end up in your current career?

I became interested in software testing because I enjoy solving problems and ensuring that applications provide a great experience for users. I've learned that every project is an opportunity to improve my technical skills while working closely with developers and business teams.

What’s a hobby or activity you really enjoy?

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, listening to music, and exploring new technologies. I also like learning about automation and AI because technology is constantly evolving, and I enjoy keeping my skills up to date.

When is a time you felt really proud of yourself?

I felt especially proud of myself was when I successfully delivered a challenging project within a tight timeline while maintaining quality. It required careful planning, teamwork, and staying focused under pressure. Completing it successfully gave me confidence in my abilities and reminded me that persistence pays off.

What was your first job, and what did it teach you?

My first job was in the software testing field, and it taught me much more than technical skills. It helped me understand the importance of communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and taking ownership of my work. Those lessons continue to guide me in my career today.

What’s something people are surprised to learn about you?

I may seem quiet when meeting new people. I'm actually very comfortable taking responsibility and leading discussions once I become familiar with the team. I believe actions speak louder than words.

What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?

Every challenge is an opportunity to learn, and mistakes are part of growth. Believe in yourself, keep learning, and don't compare your journey with anyone else's.
