Rebooting Analytics QA from the Ground Up

When the client retired Zephyr, a JIRA based testing platform used to validate and document analytics test flows, the analytics team faced an unexpected challenge. While thousands of historical test cases were migrated to the new Practitest platform, the conversion left many of those assets difficult to maintain and impractical to reuse.

Rather than invest significant effort retrofitting outdated test cases, Concord made the strategic decision to start fresh. What began as a platform migration quickly evolved into a process transformation, requiring new standards, workflows, governance practices, and team enablement, all while maintaining support for ongoing delivery.

To reboot the analytics testing practice from the ground up, Concord tackled the transition in two parts: comprehensive platform documentation and reusable test case templating.

• Platform Documentation: A thorough, step-by-step guide was built directly in the client's Confluence system, walking users through how to access Practitest, create test cases, integrate with JIRA, parameterize values, and log defects. The guide was shared across development teams as a practical "how-to" resource, giving them everything they needed to get up and running quickly and independently.
• Test Case Templating: To accelerate test authoring, Concord templatized test cases for each platform directly in Practitest. Rather than building a new case from scratch for every flow and scenario, users could simply clone an existing template, update the relevant naming/values, and move straight into validation.
